For 2012, changes to the LS460 are in trim. A new Sportech Package can be added to the LS460 AWD, which adds a unique sport grille and skirt package. The standard Technology Package on the LS460 L AWD adds air conditioned and massaging power-adjustable rear seats, rear audio and climate controls, wood and leather console box, premium leather upholstery, Escaine headliner, rear door power sunshade, pre-collision system and lane keeping assist.
The LS series includes the LS460 RWD, LS460 AWD, and long-wheelbase LS460 L AWD. There is also a hybrid version, the LS600h, covered separately.
All models use a 4.6-litre V8 engine that produces 380 horsepower in rear-wheel drive, and 357 horsepower in all-wheel drive. All use an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The LS460 L AWD adds four-zone automatic climate control, premium leather upholstery, power-adjustable heated and cooled massaging rear seats with single memory setting, wood and leather console box, Escaine headliner, power door and trunk closers, power rear door sunshades, leather-trimmed instrument panel, pre-collision system, lane keeping assist, laminated side glass, water-repellent front door glass, and intelligent high-beam headlamps.
Available options include a Technology or Sport Package on the 460RWD, a Sport Appearance package on the 460AWD, a Technology Package on the 460AWD and 460L, and an Executive Package on the 460L.
